Zernio Made Crystal Clear · chapter 2: The Zernio Mental Model

The platform capability matrix, captured 2026-08-29 from docs.zernio.com/platforms

2026-10-20

Partial cells: Instagram comments are reply-only; Discord DMs are send-only (the bot can start a DM, but replies need a Gateway connection the API does not expose); YouTube comments cannot be liked; Reddit and Bluesky analytics are limited; Google Business per-post analytics are deprecated and its interactions arrive as reviews. LinkedIn and Snapchat expose no third-party DM or comment access respectively. The Ads column marks platforms whose ad network is among the 7 Zernio manages (Meta Ads covers Facebook and Instagram, Google Ads covers YouTube); the seventh network, OpenAI Ads, has no organic platform row. Always check the live matrix before committing to a feature.

Below: the paragraph from the book that builds this idea, then the diagram itself (Figure 2.3), and a recap. About a minute of reading.

Here is the part of the mental model that saves you from designing features that cannot ship. Zernio unifies the request shape, not the platforms themselves. TikTok's API offers no DMs and no comment support. LinkedIn blocks third-party DM access entirely (comments work fine). YouTube has no DMs at all. Before you promise a "reply to every comment from one inbox" feature, you need to know which platforms can actually deliver it. Figure 2.3 is that reference, and the checklist after it turns the figure into a five-minute design review.
