Privacy
Made Crystal Clear is a small independent book series by Christophe Paka. This page explains, in plain terms, what data the site collects and why. Last updated October 2026.
What we collect
- Feedback form: the book and chapter you select, a feedback category, your message, an optional screenshot you attach, and your browser's user-agent string. We do not ask for your name or email.
- Newsletter: your email address, and which page you subscribed from.
- Analytics: if enabled, privacy-friendly, cookie-less aggregate stats (via Plausible). No personal profiles, no cross-site tracking.
- Advertising pixels (only with your OK): the Meta pixel and the Reddit pixel, so the books can be shown again to people who visited this site. They record the pages you view, which book page you open, and clicks on the Amazon, Kindle and free-copy buttons, tied to the book. On the team licence page they also record when you start a checkout and when a purchase completes (the plan and the amount paid). They set their own cookies and send that data to Meta and Reddit under their privacy terms. Nothing loads until you accept the cookie banner; refuse and no pixel is ever loaded.
- Purchase measurement (only with your OK): if you accepted the banner and then buy a team licence, our server tells Meta about that purchase so we can measure our Facebook and Instagram ads: the plan, the amount, your email address (turned into an irreversible hash before it reaches Meta), your IP address, browser and the Meta cookies. This goes through Zernio, the service we use to manage our ads. If you refused the banner, nothing is sent.
How we use it
Feedback is used only to improve the books. Your email is used only to send you a short note when a new book ships. We run ads on Facebook and Instagram and, only with your OK, measure which ones lead to a visit or a purchase. We never sell or rent your data.
Who processes it
Data is stored with Supabase (database and file storage) and the site is served via Cloudflare. Emails are sent with Resend. Payments are handled by Stripe. Ad measurement goes to Meta through Zernio, only with your OK. These providers process data on our behalf under their own security and privacy terms.
Cookie choice
One first-party cookie, mcc_consent, remembers your answer to the banner for six months. Change it here at any time.
