Figure 1.1 puts the three ways of working with an AI on one page: autocomplete, pairing (you watch and approve each step), and delegating (the agent works alone and you review the result). The columns to the right are not better in every situation; they are bigger units of work with review moved later. Chapters 5 and 6 train the middle lane. Chapters 7 to 9 train the right lane.
